CAMP HERE

Terms

Effective September 28, 2026

The short version. Camp Here shows what public agencies publish about their campsites, plus what campers share. It can be out of date or wrong. Always check with the agency that runs a place before you go, follow their rules, and keep your check-ins honest and decent.

These terms are an agreement between you and Verplanck Publishing, of New York, USA ("we", "us"), which makes Camp Here. By creating an account or using Camp Here you agree to them, and to the Privacy Policy. You need to be at least 13 to use Camp Here.

What Camp Here is, and isn't

The map is built from data that park, forest and wildlife agencies publish, rebuilt about once a month, and from check-ins by other campers. It is not an official source. Sites close, move, burn, flood and change rules; roads wash out; fees, seasons and permits change; an agency's own data can be wrong; and a check-in is one camper's word on one day. Camp Here doesn't show whether a place is open, safe, or allowed for you right now.

Your account

One account per person, with an email address you control. Keep access to that email safe: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Your display name must not impersonate someone, or be offensive; we may reset a name that is. You can delete your account at any time from the app (see the Privacy Policy for what that removes).

Check-ins and what you share

What you share stays yours. By posting a check-in you give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive license to store it and show it to other Camp Here users, with your display name and the date, and to keep showing it (as "Deleted user") if you delete your account, unless you remove it. You're responsible for what you post. Don't post:

Any camper can flag a check-in; enough flags hide it. We may hide or remove check-ins, reset names, and suspend or close accounts that break these rules, at our discretion.

Using the service fairly

Use Camp Here for planning and taking your own trips. Don't scrape or bulk-download it beyond what the app's own download features do, don't try to get around the sign-in or the limits, and don't interfere with how it runs. The agency data itself is public and you're free to get it from the agencies; the app, its design, and the way the data is assembled are ours.

The beta

Camp Here is free during the beta. Features can change or go away, and there will be bugs; tell us at hello@camphere.app. Paid features may come later; we'll say what they cost before anything is charged, and nothing is charged without you choosing to buy it.

No warranty

Camp Here is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and availability. We don't warrant that any site exists, is open, is legal for you to use, is reachable, is safe, or has the fees, seasons, amenities or signal shown.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Verplanck Publishing is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss, injury, fine, or trip gone wrong arising from your use of Camp Here or reliance on anything in it, and our total liability for any claim about Camp Here is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it (during the free beta, that is nothing). Some places don't allow some of these limits, so they apply to you only as far as the law there allows.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when. For anything important we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. You can stop using Camp Here and delete your account whenever you like, and we may end or change the service.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in New York, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
